We are asking you to support us by directing your customers and audiences to the Government’s up-to-date advice on their website here:
Key Travel Advice for UK Nationals
Our key advice for UK nationals both domestically and internationally is as follows.
- The Foreign Office advises against all non-essential travel worldwide
- British citizens planning to travel should refer to the Foreign Office coronavirus travel advice page for more guidance, and sign up to email alerts.
- Citizens who decide that travel abroad is essential should be fully aware of the increased risks of travel. That includes the risk that they might not be able to get home, if travel restrictions are put in place.
- UK citizens overseas should look at the travel advice for the country they are visiting, take account of the fast moving situation and plan accordingly. The Foreign Office advises all British travellers overseas to return home to the UK now.
It would also be helpful if you could share the FCO’s latest social media posts on your channels:
We fully appreciate that you will be managing the comms for your company already regarding this matter – but we’ve found from our previous campaigns that consumers really benefit from seeing the official Government advice on the gov.uk website, where it will be updated with any further changes as the situation progresses.
